And the last few months have challenged all of us, more than ever, to assess how the things that truly matter fit into our hectic days. It’s been our great privilege at Clockwise to help, in a small way, an increasing number of people strike that balance.

Today, I’m incredibly excited to announce that Clockwise has raised an $18 million Series B, led by Bain Capital Ventures, to enable us to continue in that mission. Ajay Agarwal at Bain Capital Ventures joins our existing investors, Steve Loughlin at Accel and John Lilly at Greylock Partners, who also participated in this round. This new capital will enable us to grow our team and accelerate our path towards our vision of connecting to, categorizing, and coordinating the world’s time.

To that end, I’m also excited to announce that today marks the launch of Clockwise for Teams — the time management toolkit for remote teams. This launch caps over a year of tremendous progress and the beginning of an exciting new phase of product development at Clockwise.

New today: Clockwise for Teams — time management for remote work

Even before COVID-19 threw our schedules into further disarray, workers everywhere struggled with the most basic requirement for success: having enough time to actually get things done.

Since the move to remote work, our data shows managers and team leads are scheduling more check-in meetings to attempt to replace in-office collaboration. Which means more meetings and less Focus Time than ever. As a result, we’ve seen a surge of demand, with Clockwise signups up 87% since the beginning of the year.

We built Clockwise for Teams to directly address the problems teams are facing in this environment – more difficult collaboration, a lack of visibility into team bandwidth, and not enough time for focused work.

Launching today, Clockwise for Teams includes:

  • Automatically Protected No-Meeting Day: Use Clockwise to automatically create and protect your no-meeting day so you and your team can maximize your Focus Time.
  • Team Availability Calendar: Staying on top of who is out-of-office is even harder in a remote environment. See at-a-glance when a teammate will be unavailable with a team availability calendar that updates automatically, no manual updates required.
  • Team Time Analytics: Does your team have enough Focus Time to hit their goals? Get the answer instantly with real-time analytics that measures time spent in meetings, Focus Time, and more.

Where we’re going next

I’m incredibly proud of how far our team has come over the past year. We are revolutionizing calendar management, and the results are clear -- we’ve created more than 250,000 hours of new Focus Time for workers.

With this new funding and building on our product momentum, I’m excited to:

Broaden availability

Clockwise is currently only available to G-Suite users on desktop. We want all knowledge workers to be able to experience the magic of Clockwise wherever they work, whether on Office 365 or their phone. As a result, we’re investing in making Clockwise work seamlessly across a greater variety of platforms.

Build a world class business

Ensure that the revolution is a lasting one by building out Clockwise’s paid offering and the team to support it.

Continue to hire the best team in enterprise software

The Clockwise team is a close-knit, values-driven group of 20 hardworking individuals. We can’t wait to grow our team to reach even more amazing milestones together. We are actively hiring for several positions, and I encourage anyone interested to apply.

And, as always, help the world make time for what matters. Thank you to all those in our community who have powered our progress to date, and for those who want to help build the future, our doors are open.
