Today at their Focus & Flow Summit, leading work management platform, Asana debuted their new integration with Clockwise.
This integration makes it faster and easier than ever to schedule tasks on your calendar. Just enter the amount of time needed and select when you want to do the work, and Clockwise will automatically add the task to your calendar.
Plus, you can schedule these tasks during your Focus Time so they don’t conflict with your meetings or other events.
You can also choose to put mark your Asana tasks as flexible, so Clockwise can schedule them to preserve as much Focus Time as possible. Clockwise will also automatically fix any scheduling conflicts that arise. If a colleague needs to schedule something over your task, Clockwise can move it to the next-best spot, based on your preferences.
“The flexibility that Clockwise enables is just such a good match for a native integration within Asana,” said Gary Lerhaupt, Clockwise’s CTO. “By combining the tasks which define your work with Clockwise’s ability to optimize your ever-shifting set of meetings and constraints, we’ve created some game-changing capabilities to get sh*t done. The future of work is here and we are proud to be delivering this together with Asana.”
Tick off tasks with time blocking
This integration builds on a popular time management technique called “time blocking.” Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Cal Newport all use time blocking to get more done faster. With time blocking, you choose when you’re going to work on a task in advance and schedule that time on your calendar. Time blocking is shown to help you:
- Prioritize your highest-leverage tasks
- Spend the right amount time on your tasks
- Estimate your work capacity more easily and accurately
If you struggle with neglecting your highest priority tasks, spending too much time on less-important tasks, and wondering what to work on next, time blocking can help.
Get started with the Asana integration
Here’s how to time block your Asana tasks with Clockwise:
- Start by signing up for Clockwise, if you haven’t already.
- Then add the Clockwise app to Asana.
- In Asana, add Clockwise to your project by clicking “Customize → Add App → Clockwise.”
To use the integration, open a task and click the “Schedule with Clockwise” button. Tasks you’ve already scheduled will show the details right on the task. This way, everyone knows what everyone is working on, and when.
We’re thrilled to partner with Asana. Together, we’re helping millions of teams quickly and easily time block their calendars, maximizing their focus and productivity.
